My plan for today is to tackle the drafts folder of this blog, so hopefully frequent blogging services will resume around here. In the meantime, here is a round up of blog posts, articles and stuff from the internet that caught my attention this week.

A round up of blog posts, articles and stuff from the internet that caught my attention this week.

On Tuesday, I tweeted about how underfunded our Mental Health Services are. This blog post sums up the difficulties that people face when trying to access services for ongoing and long term mental health issues  – Please Talk To Who? – A thing about mental health treatment in Ireland

As I said in the comment section, I think more of us can relate to this than care to admit it. Even to ourselves. I’m at the tail end of one of those feeling stuck experiences and doing my best focus on the people and things that I wouldn’t change rather than dwell on the things I would, but sometimes that is easier said than done  – Why compare?

It has been a couple of months since I last did one of these, but here is a round up of blog posts, articles and other things from the internet that caught my attention this week.

This is a beautifully written piece on living with chronic illness and finding love – In Sickness and in Health, But Mostly in Sickness

The New Yorker has temporarily suspended its paywall and I have been reading as many articles as I can. This one, from 1995,  is one of the best things I have read about the Rwandan genocide – After the Genocide

Like most people I have a mixed relationship women’s magazines and now only buy them if I have a long train journey ahead of me or there is a gift with purchase that I want. As a result, there are some I dip in and out of (particularly Stellar, IMAGE Magazine, Glamour, and Marie Claire) and many that I never read. These two articles are about juxtaposing serious issues with what many deem the more frivolous aspects of women’s writing –  The Catch-22 of Women’s Magazines and  Why Are Women’s Publications Still Ridiculed?

This week I’ve been reading #5

I’m still working on a blog post about calling out homophobia, what constitutes homophobia, the RTE settlements and respectfully campaigning for marriage equality. In the meantime, though, I thought I would re-introduce my ‘This Week I’ve Been Reading’ series to share links to some of the stuff I’ve been reading about the whole Saturday Night Show interview and the aftermath.
