Bath Products

There are few things as relaxing as a good long soak in a bath. I’m prone to bouts of insomnia and while a bath isn’t guaranteed to send me to sleep, it does go a long way to helping me unwind and settle down for the night.

My problem with a lot of the relaxing bath products is that they are lavender based and lavender and I don’t get along. Instead of unwinding, I end up with a headache if the scent is too strong.

Review: Bourjois Healthy Mix Radiance Reveal in No. 51 Light Vanilla

I haven’t reviewed a proper foundation in over a year and even then the last few were press samples. That’s because (a) a couple of years ago I made the decision to use up all my open foundations, about 15 bottles/tubes, before buying anymore and (b) I haven’t worn make up on a daily basis in about 18 months, so it took me a while to get through my stash.

When I finally ran out, back in April, I decided to pick up the Bourjois Healthy Mix Radiance Reveal foundation because I had gotten on so well with the original Healthy Mix.

Review: La Roche-Posay Rosaliac CC Creme

La Roche Posay Rosaliac CC Creme

I reviewed the initial Rosaliac range from La Roche-Posay back in 2012 on a previous incarnation of this blog. The Rosaliac AR Intense serum is still a staple in my skincare routine. When I heard they were adding a CC cream to the line up I was intrigued. I love the idea of a product that contains skincare benefits and offers some coverage without the need for a full on foundation, but the ongoing BB and CC cream craze has largely passed me by as the majority of them are too dark.

Review: Avene High Protection Tinted Compact

Avene High Protection Tinted Compact (Beige)

Given the recent storms we’ve had writing about sunscreen might be the last thing you would expect, but as I type this the sun is shining and I’m clinging to the hope that Spring is well and truly on the way so bear with me. Besides, it can serve as a reminder that we need to protect ourselves from sun damage no matter what the weather.

Review: La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5

La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5

You may have already noticed, but I’m slightly obsessed with all things skincare related. I’ve tried numerous lotions and potions over the years and even more so since I began blogging. Mainly because it has taken me years to find the right combination of products for my dry/sensitive Rosacea prone skin. Truthfully though, I do love finding a product that catches my eye and then reading as many reviews and articles as I can before deciding whether to purchase it or not.

Every so often I come across a product that is so good I know I will always have a tube or pot of it on the go. The Cicaplast Baume B5 Soothing Repairing Balm by La Roche-Posay is one such product.

Dry lip saviours

LUSH Santa's Lip Scrub and Blistex Intensive Moisturiser

I think most people suffer with dry lips at some point throughout the winter months and the recent storms, here in Ireland, have probably made any dry skin issues worse.

My lips can become dry and cracked at any time, it comes with the dry/sensitive skin territory. As a result of this looking after my lips has become a regular step in my skincare routine.

Review: Givenchy Very Irresistible Sensual EDP

Givenchy Very Irresistible Sensual EDP

Very Irresistible EDP is the last of the Givenchy perfume sachets that my friend gave me last year. I still think that housing perfume samples in a sachet, as opposed to a vial, makes the application process difficult. As a result of this, I only managed to get two uses out of this sample whereas the Play for Her sample yielded three uses.

In 2005 Very Irresistible Sensual became the newest addition to Givenchy’s Very Irresistible range. Containing notes of rose, peony, star anise, patchouli and vanilla it is supposed to be a more seductive grown up version of the original Very Irresistible.
