Review: Benefit B.Right It’s Potent! Eye Cream

I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect eye cream for what seems like an eternity. I honestly don’t know why I’ve been having so much trouble, it’s not as if I’m making undue demands on eye cream. I mean I just want something that will take  care of my dark circles as well as keep the eye area hydrated. Not too much to ask for, is it?

With this mission in mind my interests where peaked when I first heard about Benefit’s It’s Potent! Eye Cream back in February. The fact that is was described as a ‘brightening eye cream to fade dark circles’, could only be a good thing as far as I was concerned.

Lack of money meant that I wasn’t able to rush out and buy it as soon as it hit the shelves but I was lucky enough to receive a sample jar in my Benefit goody bag at the event in Brown Thomas back in June. YAY!

I’ve been using it on a daily basis ever since and I can safely say that it lives up to my initial expectations.

Texture wise, this cream has got it spot on. It’s not too heavy so it wont damage the delicate eye area and nor is it so light that it actually isn’t hydrating at all. It’s just the right balance of creaminess to make the world of difference to the one part of my skin that I’ve badly neglected in recent months.

According to Benefit, It’s Potent! Eye Cream contains ‘a peptide complex known to help restore elasticity and firmness, a blend of hydrating botanical extracts including apple extract, known to help boost collagen, and loquat extract, known to help protect the skin from free radical damage’.

I noticed a difference in my dark circles within two days and by week’s end my friends where actually commenting that I looked a lot less tired than I had been looking.

Packaging wise, I love the retro look of the glass jars. I’m a fan of glass packaging anyway but these jars are actually quite pretty.

The jar I got is 3.0g and the full size jar is 15ml and retails at €33. I’ve been using it twice daily for a month and there’s still plenty left in my little jar  so on a cost basis I would say €33 isn’t that expensive for an eye cream that works and is gonna last you a good while.
I’ll definitely be purchasing many a full size jar in the future (though not any time soon as I have another mini jar ready and waiting thanks to a gorgeous gift set that a friend bought me for my birthday,) as I don’t see myself ever being without this eye cream.
I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews about this product in the blogosphere of late but it 100% gets the thumbs up from me.
